and, Will Alcohol ever get treated as a "Controlled Drug"?

Life Control and Money.

Ok, so, who out of all of you out there have realized that our whole lives are controlled from birth to death?... well... if you haven't yet... maybe you should read on.

So, the day has come, you are born. Born into a world where you are controlled. From the first case... the birth certificate. Ok, i can see why... people need to know that you exist, fine... but why don't you have the say on what goes on that certificate?.. or what name you should have, or the location where you were born?... I know, you would be a mere baby and have no understanding of all that yet... but how many people would love to "Correct" that untrue piece of paper, when they realized a mistake was made? Take this for example... If you were born in Gibraltar... would you want to be known as English? or Spanish?... or Both?... and if you were Born abroad with English parents on some Armed Forces Base... wouldn't you like to have that duel nationality instead of the single nationality that was put on that certificate?

So, you are born... you then spend the first part of your life being prodded around by nurses, doctors, parents.. and any other person who might need to look at you, you are given a crappy name, have Government recommended food shoved down your throat and can't even get the best stuff in public without being looked at funny...

Soon, you'll be old enough to be put into some kindergarten type class with adults that can't even be fully vetted by child abuse prevention clowns... told to play with this freak of a kid who likes playing with dolls and get told off for shouting too loud. You are forced to eat your greens and forced to go to bed when you aren't even tired.

Years go by, and soon you are forced to go to big school... When you were doing so well in Primary school... this new school is full of people who control you. You have to take lessons in subjects that are a waste of time, you get told to do things and nobody explains it too you... And you have to wear a stupid uniform... still parents tell you to eat your greens and go to bed when you aren't even tired and now, additionally... you have more rules given to you. Be in by 4, home work, house work, help here help there, do this do that... no time to be a kid anymore.

Soon, you are at the end of your school years, having done several years of lessons and learning that only 5% of it you'll ever need (When will i ever get to use Algebra in real life???)... But still, you must have those infamous GCSE's exams to get any where in life... ok, so why do employers not give two fucks about them then?!

So, 10 GCSE's... and now further education... the real education... the education that really does matter in life... College, University... so on so forth... At last, the light at the end of the tunnel... soon there will be no more control!

But, you forgot one thing... childhood is over... adulthood is began.

Control starts again... taxes, laws, rules, money, rent, national insurance, car tax, car insurance, TV Licence, jobs, phone bills, food... new things start becoming the normality where once before... you didn't care about.

The biggest control is money... without it, you are fucked.

To get money, you need a job. Just when you thought school was over... a free world existed... now... you have to be stuck with some mundane bullshit job to get money. If you wanted to travel the world and explore... forget it. You need money.

Unless you have loads of it, you will find that money controls your freedom from day one of adult hood. Without it you'll have no where to stay... apart from your parents house... and lets face it, imagine living at your mum and dads house at 18 years of age and wanting to have some er... privacy with that new found girlfriend... imagine living with mum and dad and still being treated like a kid... because mothers still do that... gee.. i am in my 30's and my mum still tries to control me!

So, if you want to move out... and be a part of that big wide world.. you need to rent or buy someplace to live... shing! money! hey there!...

To get money you need a job, or a rich parent that gave you a couple of million for the fun of it, So... there you are, 16 to 18 years of age... your first real job. no more paper rounds, no more bob-a-jobing... this is the real deal. Real money.

Depending on your qualifications... and the "no experience at all" that you have... depends on what job you get... most peeps end up in Factories, or try at a carear with no idea what so ever about what they are doing... you get the job, and suddenly realize... hey... all your free time and freedom is now taken away from you. A typical scenario is...

Monday to Friday 7am to 6pm... work.. that includes travel and shower and breakfast and traffic jams... you get home at about 6pm... watch 2 hours of TV, eat dinner and by 10 you'll be sleeping like a baby.

Friday night, you'll socialize... get drunk maybe and wake up next day after 12 with a head ache... you'll waste Sunday doing odd tasks... then Monday morning... work!

You'll do this until you are 65 years old.. or there abouts... Holidays come and go, usually about 25 days a year... maybe 30 if you are lucky... and you will get paid every month usually. So, bare that in mind when you think about "No more school".

On top of that, now we have Money out of the way... you'll find out that there is something called Tax to pay... this is money that the government steals from you to pay for things like... plane trips for the Parliament members to somewhere that can easily be driven to, bonuses for drinking parties for Public Servants...

Ok, ok, its not just on that sort of thing... its mainly to help run the country. Like bin collections, police forces, pensions, NHS things, new roads, speed cameras... that sort of thing. And on top of that... you will have National Insurance... you remember that card they gave you to keep safe?... yeah... lost it already have you?... welcome to the club... everyone loses that stupid card!

Then you'll discover that your wage packet has already dropped in value... you remember when you saw that line.... £24,000 per year salary????... you'll soon work out that its only about £1000 a month... and the rest is tax or something.

Just think.. to be safe about your calculations... get the salary amount and divide into 100 and times by about 35... that is how much they take from you (about... for exact amount... visit your Tax office)

Then, you will realize that there is something called a "Bill" to pay. Yep, nothing is free... welcome to the adult world.

If you own a car... you'll have to pay for a few things.... MOT, Car tax, Insurance, Fuel, Maintenance (Oil, Washer fluid, anti-freeze)... and that's even before you consider the new stereo and seat covers... So, your test, lessons and theory broke your bank did it? the cost of your banger made you take out a loan from the bank did it?.... well... welcome to the second most expensive item you'll ever own... your car!

So, now you spent thousands on your car and licence... (maybe even hundreds)... now you have to pray to the Government to not make it any harder for you....

Remember this... (Depending on type of car)

Fuel, £20 to £70 to fill her... depending on type of car. (per week)
Insurance, £200 to £600 approx for a year (it will go down.. promise)
MOT, £50 to £70 a year
Tax, £70 to £300 a year

Now, if you do have an accident... which you will... repairs could cost you some where between £500 to a couple of thousand... (this is why you have insurance)... and if you claim... you pay more insurance... and your no claims goes back to zero again... until you get 3-4 straight years in a row without claiming... then it gets protected... so you could spend the next 10 years just trying to get your 3 years no claims if you were that unlucky. (and remember... you are the learner, even after you passed your test, for at least 2 years.... and 99% of accidents will be blamed on YOU!)... its just how it goes.

Also, remember the Police are very interested in teaching you a lesson or two... they know how many years you have been driving, they can see how many friends you have in the back of your car, and they know you are going to be the cause of an accident... so they will spend as many hours as possible making sure you are sat at the side of the road with the blue lights flashing whilst that big man in the yellow jacket tells you about "Speeding" "Bold tires" "No seat belts" "Bulbs blown" "Dangerous driving" "Drink driving" "No Insurance" "No Tax" "Stereo on too loud" "No signal at last junction".... and anything else you will do without noticing that their police car is sat right behind you.

Then, you will face other things to do with your car, maintenance, yep, learn what a car is as soon as possible, because one day you will need to check the oil, change that wheel, replace that bulb, change those spark plugs... it gets kinda expensive if you rely on a garage or a mechanic to do these things for you... they charge £48 an hour to do simple things like that.

And if you think about doing anything illegal... like joy riding, dangerous hand brake turns, and racing... expect the next level... court room appearances and heavy fines and bans... and possible prison sentences.

So, you now have a car... next is a job. What did you want to be when you were younger?... nothing like what you are now i bet.

If you haven't done the education and got the experience (Even though you can't get experience without doing the job)... you will have to go a more indirect route. Unless you have been given your birthright ideal job, or lucky enough to get something you wanted, more than likely you planned your whole life from aged 12... worked hard in school ect ect... you may find that being a chief exec of some oil company is far away from your level at this moment in time.

Like military jobs, you start at the bottom and work your way up.. not go straight in as General Howits in charge of NATO... Your working life will now start as a routine, get up, get dressed, eat breakfast, go to work, come home from work, get dressed, eat dinner watch TV go to bed, get up.... day in day out, month after month.

Eran money, spend money, buy a house, sell a house... pay this pay that, swear at that bill, smile at that bonus pay check... watch the FTSE go up down up... Tax raise, VAT raise, Fuel price increases... then you think about savings.

Savings, money that is yours that you manage to save for a rainy day... usually when you have your first child or get your first mortgage, or replace your stolen car, or invest in that second home. If you are lucky enough to get a saving... be thankful... the average person only has about a weeks wage in their bank account at the end of the month.

Mortgages... the thing you need to buy a house... unless you win the lottery and buy one outright. its kinda like a loan... and each month you must pay this loan back... or you lose your house... simple. usually you will need about £1000 a month for the mortgage repayment and household bills.

Oh yes... household bills... to own a house, and rent one, you also have to pay bills... but we will come to that soon. A grand... yep... Houses are the first most expensive thing you'll ever buy, or borrow (Rent is simply borrowing a home).. It will take most of your wages away, and require more money when you live in it. Renting is by far the cheapest at the moment... but bad side is... at the end of the day it isn't your home, its rented to you by someone who has money.

Rent is usually somewhere between maybe £300 and £700 a month... depending on what house, how many people you plan to live with you and all that kinda stuff... any cheaper and you are living on easy street.. any more expensive and you may as well buy a house!

Mortgages are somewhere around the £700 and upwards level... depending on the cost of the house... and they are about £100,000 and upwards usually. The bills, i mentioned "Bills"... these are things that you'll have to pay to keep the house running.

Water, Gas, Electric, Phone bill, TV Licence, Council Tax... and that's just the main ones... Internet, food, drink, toilet paper, washing up liquid and anything else is separate.

Water, gas and electric is all depending on how much you use, when and how often. It ain't cheap. So, if you like flushing the toilet for no reason, having the gas heating on all year round and having the lights on all day, and watching TV for hours on end... then you could see a bill which requires a bank loan to sort out. All night parties will be a big thing for you youngsters when you get that first home... and its them that will make the bills shoot up. (Try candle lit dinners and wearing more clothes and flushing the toilet when you need it and boiling the kettle once for everyone and not every ten minuets for individual needs)

Now, you have a car, a home and a job... you are part of the way to being human. From say, 18 to 65... that is all you are going to care about. Holidays are few and far between when you realize that there are priorities. If you have kids, get married and settle down... along comes another problem...

Now you are the parent, you are the adult... and those kids need feeding and being taken care of and that partner needs stability. Remember those savings?

So, eventually you reach 65. Retirement. You spent the best part of your life being controlled. laws, rules, money, taxes, bills, mortgages, kids screaming for money, partner screaming for money, Gordon Brown screaming for money, education, employment, promotions, demotions... you seen it all.

Now, you have something called a pension. state or private... you will find out now if you paid enough towards getting enough. state pensions are from the government, and depend on how much they got from working class people over the years. (if nobody worked... no pension would be given) And a private pension is from what you contributed to out of your wages over the years that you were only bothered about when you reached 30 and saw that advert on TV. The more you gave, the more you get.

(Here's a thing, you know you pay all that insurance money for your car throughout your life, why is it that you never get it back if you never made a claim???)

... And now you are 65, in your bungalow in Brighton and spending the days watching reruns on UKGold... and eating ice cream and wishing your grand kids would visit sometime, wishing your own kids would ring sometime... collecting your money each month or week, having selective hearing, slowly getting older and older....

Eventually, your own kids turn up... and put you in a rest home, where you can be controlled all over again!

Spending your final days being prodded about told what to do and forced in and out of your wheel chair... eventually you pass away. An entire life spent doing things that you'd wish you'd hadn't and never really doing what you really wanted to do.

So remember, money is the route of all evil and without it you will die... unless you find charity from people who are too busy being controlled themselves.

What a funny life we lead.

R.I.P

I'm a Celebrity, Get me outta here!

So, watching that gastly program on TV, (is there nothing else better to watch).. i looked closely at the actual "Set"... now, call me an old niave bastard... but isn't that "Jungle" just a slightly bit Un-Jungle Like????

Ok, look at it from my perspective...

How many Jungles have i gone to that has a convienent "Clearing" to use for an entire film crew, tents, tables, benches and anything else they might need?.... er nil.

How many jungles have i gone to that has no snakes, ants, tigers, or any other wildlife that doesn't come and go every five minuets?... er nil.

How many jungles have no humidity or rain showers on a regular basis?... er nil.

So, i watched on... and realized that it looks more like a forest or wood... maybe in the UK... done up to look like a "Jungle"... probably the whole damn set is fake and they aren't even in Australia or where ever it is they are supposed to be in.

So, Im a celebrity get me outta here?... why?... isn't it quite comfy in the BBC Studios with the spot lights and plastic leaves?

Or maybe... its filmed on the same location as the Big Brother House?... who knows... but a Jungle it is not.
